As a job candidate using SMC's services, you are asked to provide certain pieces of information in order for us to give you the best possible service. By using our placement services with a view to creating job opportunities for you, and by providing us with your personal information, we imply your consent.
In addition to your contact details, resume, and a description of the type of work for which you are looking, your file may include the following: our interview notes; educational records and certificates; copies of license and work visa documentation; reference letters; skill testing results; and information obtained through reference and background checks.
We use your information to: understand your qualifications, needs and preferences; find the best work opportunities for you to meet your career satisfaction goals; fulfill our clients' requests for information about job candidates; and assess and develop our business and operations to better service job candiates and our client companies. SMC never collects more personal information than is needed to fulfill these purposes, unless requested by the client company and consented to by the job candidate.
Prior to any information being revealed for the purposes of arranging job interviews, the party involved will be contacted to gain his/her approval to release information.
We may share information with our affiliates, partners, contractors or other companies (the representative) that we use to provide full placement services. However, we only disclose limited information as required for the function that will be performed by the representative on our behalf. We also ensure that every contract we enter into with a representative clearly outlines the representative's obligation to protect your personal information and live up to the principles of privacy.
Any person requesting his/her data to be removed will be complied with.
SMC's technology does NOT use cookies or web bugs to monitor users. SMC does not allow any market researchers or wholesale advertiser services access to its sites or to any collection of data.
In the recruitment and placement of any individual utilizing our services, SMC does not require any candidate or job seeker to pay any money at anytime. SMC is paid by the client corporation requesting its recruiting services.
We retain your information as long as you are using our placement services, or longer if required by law. For permanent placements, we retain your information for one year after you accept a permanent employment position.
Information is only stored for internal record management and legal compliance. Auditors may have access to this data in their regular oversight duties relating to our firm. They may look and read but not remove any information.
Every precaution is taken to ensure that all data is safeguarded. Our privacy policy is strict. Security is in place to prevent unauthorized access. You may inquire about the information on your particular file. You do so by contacting the Privacy Officer, Jacqueline Cummings. Please contact her with any privacy related inquiry.
In addition to all the normal remedies, SMC's website is a quality feedback system that makes it easy for any person to communicate in absolute privacy with the Owners of the company, bypassing all staff, if they so desire.
