Canadian Travel Nursing
Our Canadian Travel Nursing Division specializes in connecting RNs and LPNs with Canadian healthcare organizations requiring short-term assignments from 4 shifts up to 6 months in duration.
Since 2007, Select Medical Connections has had over 200 nursing professionals provide temporary nursing services to our clients. In 2009, our clients will be provided with 100,000+ hours of nursing service. Most of our nurses repeat assignments and continue to work with excellent feedback from our clients.
We serve acute care hospitals, clinics, outposts and long-term care facilities in rural and urban locations, primarily across Western Canada. Canadian clients include:

Screening
Select Medical Connections performs extensive screening of our nursing staff before presenting them to clients for consideration. As part of our due diligence, nursing staff are required to present a complete employment history with a minimum of 2 supervisory reference checks. Verification of current license, certifications clinical specialty skills checklists, criminal record checks and medical evaluations are also required of every candidate, prior to submission to your facility for consideration. Finally, you have the opportunity to conduct a phone interview with each candidate before making a commitment to hire them.
How does Travel Nursing work?
Upon learning of your nursing requirements and assignment dates, our recruitment team shares the information to our database of pre-qualified candidates. We are able to fill most assignments within 2 – 3 days of a client’s request.
Once you have reviewed candidate profiles and selected the appropriate individual(s), we work with you and the candidate to ensure cost effective and timely housing/travel arrangements are secured.
Nurses submit weekly timesheets for approval from your unit managers. Once signed off, invoices are generated for hours worked, travel and accommodation expenses as incurred.
Our hourly rate covers wages, payroll taxes, liability insurance, workers compensation, and other benefits, as well as administrative costs for each employee. Contact us to learn more.
